How can I monitor my website and partner websites for compliance?

Learn how to set up ChangeTower to track changes on your own website and on partner, dealer, or affiliate websites for compliance review. This helps regulated teams catch unapproved changes quickly and keep a record of what each page looked like.

Compliance teams in financial services, insurance, banking, and other regulated industries often need to know when their own website, or the websites of partners, dealers, brokers, or affiliates, change. ChangeTower lets you monitor these pages at scale, keep a record of every change, and route each change to the right reviewer.

Step 1: Gather the pages you need to monitor

Start by listing the pages that matter for compliance, for example:

  • Product, rate, and fee pages on your own website

  • Disclosure, legal, and privacy pages

  • Pages where partners, dealers, or affiliates describe your products

Step 2: Import your URLs in bulk

In the left navigation menu, click on New Monitor, then select Monitor Multiple Pages. Paste your URLs (one per line) or click Import from Spreadsheet. Our guide to importing URLs walks you through each step.

Step 3: Choose how changes are detected

Select the check type that fits your review process:

  • Content change monitoring – get notified about any change to the page content. Best when every edit needs review.

  • Keyword change monitoring – track specific words or phrases, such as required disclosure language or terms you don't want partners to use.

  • Smart Monitor – describe what matters in plain language, for example "Notify me if the required disclosure is removed or changed" or "Notify me if an interest rate or fee is updated." Read our Smart Monitor guide to learn how to set it up.

Step 4: Reduce noise

If pages contain elements that change often but don't need review, such as dates, rotating banners, or news feeds, you can ignore them. Our guide to ignoring page elements shows you how.

Step 5: Customize monitor details

In the Details section, you can:

  • Add tags by partner, product line, or regulation so monitors are easy to filter

  • Set the monitoring frequency

  • Choose save options – save on every run, or only when changes are detected

  • Enable or disable email alerts

Step 6: Set up your review workflow

Make sure every change is reviewed and accounted for:

Monitoring pages behind a login

If partner portals or dealer pages require a login, you can still monitor them using manual user actions. Read our guide to monitoring password-protected pages to learn how.

Create monitors right from your browser

Come across a page you need to keep an eye on, like a new partner landing page? With the ChangeTower Chrome extension, you can set up a monitor without leaving the page. Click the ChangeTower icon in your browser toolbar and describe what to watch for, for example "Notify me if the disclosure at the bottom of this page is changed or removed."
