How can I send change notifications to my Slack workspace?

Learn how to send ChangeTower notifications directly to a Slack channel. This allows your team to receive change alerts in real time where they already collaborate.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

ChangeTower can send notifications to Slack by using Slack’s email-to-channel feature. By adding a Slack channel as a workspace member, all detected changes can be delivered directly to that channel.

Step 1: Create a Slack channel for notifications

In Slack, create a channel that will receive ChangeTower notifications.

Step 2: Get the channel email address

Open the channel settings in Slack, go to the Integrations tab, and enable the Send emails to this channel option. Copy the email address generated for the channel.

Step 3: Open Workspace Settings in ChangeTower

In ChangeTower, go to Settings from the left navigation menu and open Workspace Settings, then navigate to the Team Members page.

Step 4: Add the Slack channel as a team member

Click to add a new team member. Paste the Slack channel email address into the Email field, enter a name for the member (for example, Slack Notifications), and select an appropriate role.

Step 5: Invite the Slack channel

Send the invitation to create the team member using the Slack email address.

Step 6: Receive notifications in Slack

Once added, ChangeTower notifications will be sent to the Slack channel. Anyone in that channel will receive updates whenever changes are detected.
