How can I track changes using ChangeTower's AI-powered Smart monitor?

Learn how to use ChangeTower’s AI-powered Smart Monitor to set up monitoring criteria using natural-language prompts. Smart Monitors help you focus on meaningful updates instead of raw page changes.

Updated over 2 weeks ago

The Smart Monitor allows you to describe what you care about in plain language, and ChangeTower’s AI change-detection solution evaluates page changes against that criteria. You’ll only be notified when a change matches the intent you’ve defined.

Step 1: Start creating a Smart Monitor

In the left navigation menu, click on New Monitor, then select Smart Monitor.

Step 2: Enter the URL

Enter the URL you want to monitor and continue to the monitor configuration step.

Step 3: Define notification criteria

In the 'Notify me when' section, describe what changes you want to be alerted about using natural language. For example:

  • Notify me if the footer on this page is updated or removed.

  • Notify me when a new feature is added to the changelog

  • Notify me when a new data subprocessor is added

Step 4: Configure monitoring options

Optionally, you can:

  • Use selective monitoring to focus on specific parts of the page

  • Add advanced configurations such as manual user actions

Step 5: Customize monitor details

Proceed to the Details section to customize:

  • Monitor name

  • Tags

  • Email alerts

  • Monitoring frequency

  • Save options

Step 6: Create the monitor

Click Create to finish setup. The Smart Monitor will be created and begin tracking changes based on your criteria.

Once changes are detected, they will appear on your Notifications page. In the Notification's Overview, you can review the Justification section to see what change was detected and why the AI determined it matched your criteria.
