How can I send change notifications to Microsoft Teams?

Learn how to send ChangeTower notifications directly to a Microsoft Teams channel. This allows your team to receive change alerts in real time where they already collaborate.

ChangeTower can send notifications to Microsoft Teams using the channel email feature in Teams. When you add a Teams channel as a workspace member, every detected change is delivered straight to that channel.

Step 1: Create a Teams channel for notifications

In Microsoft Teams, create a channel that will receive ChangeTower notifications, or pick an existing one.

Step 2: Get the channel email address

Hover over the channel, click More options (•••), and select Get email address. Click Copy to copy the address.

Under Advanced settings, make sure the channel accepts email from ChangeTower. Either choose Anyone can send emails to this address, or allow emails only from the domain changetower.com.

Step 3: Open Workspace Settings in ChangeTower

In ChangeTower, go to Settings from the left navigation menu and open Workspace Settings, then navigate to the Team Members page.

Step 4: Add the Teams channel as a team member

Click to add a new team member. Paste the Teams channel email address into the Email field, enter a name for the member (for example, Teams Notifications), and select an appropriate role.

Step 5: Invite the Teams channel

Send the invitation to create the team member using the Teams channel email address.

Step 6: Receive notifications in Teams

Once added, ChangeTower notifications will be posted to the Teams channel. Anyone in that channel will receive updates whenever changes are detected.

  • If you don't see Get email address, your Microsoft 365 admin may have turned off channel email. Ask them to turn it on in the Teams admin center.
