Updated over 2 weeks ago

ChangeTower allows you to monitor specific elements or areas on a page instead of the entire page. Follow these steps to set up selective monitoring:

Step 1: Start creating a new monitor

In the left navigation menu, click on New Monitor, then select single-page monitoring.

Step 2: Enter the URL you want to monitor

Enter the URL you want to monitor. After entering the URL, you’ll be taken to the monitor setup page.

Step 3: Choose selective monitoring

By default, ChangeTower monitors the full page. To monitor specific elements, select the Specific Elements option.

Step 4: Select page elements

Once you click on the 'Specific Elements' card, a screenshot of the page will expand on your screen. Click on the areas or elements you want to monitor. When finished, click Save Selection. The selected elements will be highlighted in the image preview.

Step 5: Edit or add more elements (optional)

If you want to adjust your selection or add more areas, click Edit to reopen the image snapshot and make additional selections.

Step 6: Configure monitoring settings

Continue setting up your monitor by adjusting options such as:

  • Monitoring threshold

  • Manual user action handling

  • Lazy loading support

Step 7: Customize monitor details

Go to the Details tab to customize:

  • Monitor name

  • Tags

  • Email alerts

  • Monitoring frequency

  • Save options (only when changes are detected or on every run)

Step 8: Create the monitor

Click Create to finish setup and create your monitor.
